Mexican collective Rey Trueno conjures a tongue-in-cheek, live performance from music, video, and radio and sound art. Radio Soap Opera is based on the legend of pilot Reymundo Alvarez Trueno, who was granted the power of rebellion and rock by a Mayan deity and entrusted with putting together an orchestra. Rey Trueno maintains a busy performance schedule, from the Intercontinental Orchestra -to which any musician interested is invited- to the Artistic Workshop Ballet of the Playa Mahagual Fisherman's Cooperative. Meanwhile, fans worldwide listen to recordings of Rey, where the motto of the Great Shaman always resounds: "Always Up, Never Down!".
