  Botellita de Jerez
Thursday, September 29 - 7:30pm

Founded in the early 80’s, Botellita de Jerez (Little Bottle of Sherry) is a mash-up of past, present and future that proclaims kitsch as cool. One of the most influential bands in contemporary Mexican rock, Botellita de Jerez mixes Tin Tan’s vaudeville humor with the raunchiest barrio music, and holds it all together with the sounds of rock ‘n’ roll. Botellita’s legacy includes many records, innumerable public performances rich in ritualistic theatrics, and the founding of the now legendary club ROCKOTITLAN, the breeding nest of today’s most important rock groups. Tlalocman’s masked wrestlers, Malinche’s ChimalpoPunk odyssey, and the classic Boteliita image of the Charrocker jeans bejeweled with Charro ornaments and Converse tennis shoes decked out with spurs are a living legend that now makes an explosive return to the stage. Botellita recalls its original line up: Francisko Barrios (El Mastuerzo) on drums; Sergio Arau (El Uyuyuy) on guitar; and Armando Vega-Gil (El Cucurrucucú) on the bass.
