Summer for the City 2026
For the first time in the festival’s history, the México Now Festival presented a special free summer program as part of Summer for the City at Lincoln Center.
With Summer for the City’s focus on movement, contemporary artistry, and international voices, the México Now Festival highlighted artists across three generations of creators living in the United States. Through poetry, music, and performance artists shocased their work exploring themes of migration, identity, and cultural exchange.

La Casita returning with a program that builds on its 25+ year history celebrating the vitality of artistic communities and oral traditions across New York City’s five boroughs. The México Now Festival presented queer Black Mexican American poet Irene Vázquez, alongside norteño music and dance from Queens-based Suspenso del Norte.
Later that evening on the Summer for the City Dance Floor, Tucson’s Orkesta Mendoza, led by Sergio Mendoza, took the stage. Orkesta Mendoza’s work reflects the vibrant musical influences of growing up along the United States–Mexico border. A trip to the desert, where mambo meets indie rock with a psychedelic twist.
