Music    

  •  Torreblanca / Ulalume & Carlo Nicolau- Torreblanca is an indie rock/pop/alternative band that is lost and found in musical creation. A young and vibrant group of musicians who, despite their very different musical backgrounds, complement each other creating a unique and fresh sound.
  • Ulalume & Carlo Nicolau is an avant-garde New York-based ensemble consisting of violin, keyboards and vocals. Ulalume (vocals) and Carlo Nicolau (violin & keyboards) evoke an obscure cabaret atmosphere, expressionist landscapes, and a journey through a non-specific era.Additional support for this event by The Mexican Cultural Institute of New York.

Literature

  • P.a.t.r.i.a. (Por Amar Tanto Radiante Infinito Amor)- Ciudad Juárez, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua and on the Tex-Mex border, is the territory of the poet, composer and visual artist Édgar Javier Ulloa Luján. In his universe, he decides to interpret his concept of PATRIA as a word-symbol.

Visual Arts

  • Venegas and Venegas- “Venegas and Venegas” presents the artist’s work in New York City for the first time. Photos from three of her best-known series will be on view: “Las Novias Más Hermosas de Baja California”, “María Elvia de Hank” and “San Pedro, Garza García”, her most recent body of work.
  • ‘Viva la Vida’ an altar in homage to Frida Kahlo- ‘Viva la Vida’ an altar in homage to Frida Kahlo © 2015 is a mixed media installation commissioned by The New York Botanical Garden in collaboration with Celebrate Mexico Now Festival.

    Visual artist Andrea Arroyo created an installation that will intervene the reproduction of the pyramid from Frida’s house in Coyoacán, Mexico, which is currently on view at the exhibition FRIDA KAHLO: Art, Garden, Life in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory of The New York Botanical Garden.
