Ampersan is one of the most original and promising bands of the new generation of Mexican musicians. For their New York City premier and as part of their #Ampersan10Años tour, Ampersan presents a journey through different landscapes and sounds of Mexico and Latin America. Mixing traditional instruments with modern genres such as rock, jazz and electronic this Mexico City born, Guadalajara bred band has the capacity to travel from the folkloric forms to the experimental and sound explorations.
From the beginning in 2007 Ampersan keeps a constant relationship with traditionalMexican music. They also create through cultural exchanges in the field, as well as, with contemporary academic music, and sound experimentation. With two albums (Flor de biznaga 2011 and Autorreverse 2014) and a DVD/CD (Flor de biznaga en concierto 2014), Ampersan has performed with great acceptance throughout México as well as in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Uruguay, Argentina, Guatemala and UnitedStates of America.Their music has been used in documentaries, animations, short films, contemporary dance and puppet theater.
