Gabriela Ortiz.

Called “one of the most talented composers in the world” by longtime collaborator Gustavo Dudamel, Mexico’s Gabriela Ortiz creates endlessly vibrant music that blends and transcends musical traditions. Her orchestral works are featured in concerts by The Met Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, including the New York premiere of a concerto for cellist Alisa Weilerstein. In another New York premiere, Ortiz presents Can We Know the Sound of Forgiveness, which employs music, visual art, movement, and more to explore vital questions of our time. Her expansive vision also anchors performances by fellow innovators Roomful of Teeth, Tambuco Percussion Ensemble, Attacca Quartet, Ensemble Connect, María Dueñas, and more.
